The other food hub (other than cyber hub) in
the making in Gurgaon is at Baani Square...Next to Hilton Garden Inn….
Most of the food joints already operational in other vicinities of Gurgaon are setting their second or third outlet here,
as well as new joints are also opening up at Baani Square....like Al Karam's.
...Big Wong....Crusty’ s. ..NYC PIE. ..Lavazza.....I recently tried an Indian
joint, The Spice Lab...Don't be confused ...it’s not a masala factory....It's
a very nicely done place with both Al Fresco as well as indoor seating
areas.....This place is the brainchild of a Finance Professional Sudeep Kapoor
who had been working with American Express for many years....He has taken care
of all the processes involved in making and running a food joint very
professionally. ....Hygiene being the foremost.... I loved his philosophy...As
per him..”Half the battle is won If the ingredients are of the best quality.
...” Yes I agree with him……..

The Spice Lab is not a very big place , but
a small and cozy joint with fresh interiors as well as eye soothing exteriors…….Lovely
cane furniture in white with big umbrellas create an ambiance which is so
inviting that one can’t miss it…….This place opened up in September , last year
and has been doing well since then….. Now let’s talk about food…..

One of the best Kebabs in town especially
the Veg kebabs.....Soya chaap...Soya chaap stuffed with cheese....Dahi
kebab....Veg seekh....Tandoori Aloo, Bhutte ke kebab , Galauti with ulte tawa
ka parantha and much more.. ..The Malai chicken tikka and the Bhatti chicken
are awesome.......Most succulent and delicious. ..... It’s really nice to see
that they have focused on Vegetarian grills as well. I am a hard core non veg,
still I loved the veg kebabs so much, that I had to order some of them again…….

The
main course is nice too….. We tried the Dal Tadke Wali ( Toor Daal) , Soya
Chaap Makhani , Dal Makhani and the Bhuna Gosht. Dal Tadka was a refreshing
change and was simple and subtle, very much homemade. The soya chaap makhni was
like soya in butter chicken gravy, was good but not as per my taste and the Dal
makhni was also ok, could have been better. Bhuna Gosht is a mutton dish
prepared in thick gravy made in Punjabi style
(latpata masala) tasted well .

And yes, I forgot to mention about the
Drinks, the lovely masala shikanji was very good. They aso do the thandai which
is nicely done too, with less sugar and the chaach too. In the coming summer months,
these drinks will sell like hot cakes, much needed substitutes for soft drinks
like coke etc. Last but not the least; we tried their Chocolate gulab jamun and
the kesari kheer. I loved the kesari kheer very much. It’s a must have after
the meal.

I noticed, while eating that they have very
good home delivery orders coming from all the nearby areas. Even offices and corporate
in the vicinity are ordering Thalis and food from here.
For sure, I am going or ordering again soon
to relish the lovely kebabs with the most beautiful drinks and the desserts………..
Wishing them all the best for their future
endeavours…………
