cherish.
We had a chance to stay at the Fairmont hotel and dine at Zoya. First day,
lunch was oriental and we started with very nicely done up dishes such as Som
Tam Salad, which was one of the best. Lovely flavors of dressing just bursted
in the mouth. The jasmine rice was served with the Thai Curry chicken and the
vegetables in black bean sauce. Both the dishes were made with full conviction
and authenticity. We also had their well made Mojito which had all the lovely
tastes of lemon grass and basil with mint. very refreshing. The meal ended with
the best sticky rice pudding i have ever had, which was also done in oriental style.
It had all the lovely aromas of lemon grass and was presented crem brulee
style.
At Dinner time, we had a chance to savour the most lovely Rajasthani cuisine.
Started with a nice and hearty Papad Mangodi ka Shorba which was awesome. We
ordered for a Thali which had so much variety in it , i can’t even explain. It
had a lovely dal with nice tempering of asafoetida and cumin. The best as
per me was the Laal Maas ( Mutton) and the Safed Maas (chicken). The Bajre ke
Roti and the paranthas were a good accompliment to these dishes. The desesrt
was an innovation class apart. It was a crisp Mango canelloni with
Mango shrikhand filled inside. The sweetness of the mango came out very
well with the sour shrikhand filled inside. A must try for all.
Next morning we had the breakfast at Zoya. They serve you a buffet as well as
live stations are their to serve other things. We ordered for different style
of eggs like eggs benedict, poached eggs and omelettes. I must admit all were
very nicely made to perfection. The South Indian fare was really nice
too. The dosas, idlis and the sambhar was very well made. The choice of
breakfast bakes and the breads is good. The fresh fruits, the cheeses, the juices are well presented and well stocked. The service is impeccable. You ask for something and with a smile you will get it.
The Lunch was another extremely romantic affair at Zoya. I did'nt know , I was
going to face more surprises at this place. But yes the Italian fare at lunch
changed my perspective totally for authentic Italian food. OMG, the dishes were
so well made and presented, I was shocked. I had not eaten such good Italian
food in years and nowhere in Delhi as such. The Caesar salad (deconstructed)
was one of the best , I have ever had. The Rissoto was the highlight of the
meal. The texture of rice, the creaminess, the flavors all were just perfect.
The signature Dessert at Zoya , is the Garden of Five Senses, which was
presented to us next. I am short of words now, seriously. Too much praise can
lead to boredom. But again this Chocolate dessert was heavenly. Different forms
of chocolate on a plate, sinfully delicious.
The Chefs at this all day dining
are real gems and are doing a real good job. Equal justice is being given to
each and every cuisine they are doing. If you stay at Fairmont, you are luckier
but even if you don’t, still you need to visit Zoya at least twice when in
Jaipur.......And whenever you visit in the future....
