Is
it Christmas? Not Yet, though, but the intoxicating aroma of the cake mixing
ceremony at The Suryaa Hotel, New Delhi organized recently, brought alive the
rich tradition, heralding in the spirit of the festival. Armed with gloves and
decked in aprons in house guests, media and hotel staff took part in the annual
ceremony.
The
Suryaa, New Delhi hosted the Cake-mixing ceremony to mark the beginning of
warmth and cheer of Christmas. The festivity started with the cake-mixing
ceremony followed by interactions with the General Manager, Mr. Pankaj Mathur
and F&B Director Chef Sanjay Thomas over wine and cheese as well as a
gourmet high tea.

This age-old ceremony of cake mixing was
hosted at the Atrium Lounge at The Suryaa, to usher in good tidings and
happiness. The guests were invited to be a
part of this traditional celebration and were presented aprons with their names
embossed on it as a surprise gift.
The
event was celebrated with great companionship as the participants rolled up
their sleeves and mixed the huge piles of raisins, glazed cherries, cashews, walnuts, black currants,
dates, dried apricots, figs, and spices like cinnamon, nutmeg, mace, and cloves
used in the cake.
As the continuation of the process, The
Suryaa will be hosting a Christmas cake baking ceremony by mid December, where
the guests who were present could bake cakes with our Master Baker.
The guests enjoyed the mixing ceremony while
the fragrance of different spirits that continued to linger on. Filled with
camaraderie and cheer, this cake mixing ceremony not only infused fruits and
wines, but also reaped in early Christmas cheer.
