Goa is one of the most attractive places to visit in
India. Popular for its beaches, night life, architecture and food, it is the
most sought after tourist destinations. Goa is easily accessible by road, train
and air from the entire country. Everyone's favourite beach destination has
much more than sea, sand and seafood to keep one coming back for more. Goa's
unique Portuguese heritage, natural beauty, buzzing nightlife and culinary
scene makes for a heady mix that's known to have drawn people back, time and
again.
Having become the country’s premier seaside destination,
the hotels in Goa cater to tourists at any given time of the year, and there’s
no dearth of options to choose from. Whether you’re looking for a frill-free
beach-side shack, a midrange resort further inland, a luxurious property with
all the trimmings of the city’s Indo-Portuguese heritage or a spiffy five star
hotel perched on the beach—Goa promises to meet all your expectations. If
you’re travelling to Goa during peak season, we suggest you book well in
advance so you get exactly what you’re looking for.
I was lucky to have stayed at a newly opened property
this time at North Goa. The Hyatt Place, at Candolim is located amongst the busiest
areas like Calangute and Baga just a stone throw away.
Hyatt Place is quite a big property with nice and open
feel. As you enter the place you get a casual and relaxed feel of being at a
holiday destination. The reception is a camouflaged by making it like just a
counter which converts into a bar counter on the other side which opens up in
the all day dining restaurant.
Very well groomed staff and the place, I must say. It
took just 5 minutes for allotting us a room, which by chance I did not like
much as it was on ground floor; I like to stay in higher floors (personal
choice). Without any tussle, I was allotted a nice room on the first floor
facing the swimming pool.
Rooms are nice and spacious, though not too big. It had
almost all the amenities like the wardrobe, iron, Safe, bathrobe, Tea/coffee
maker with replenishment's, a big 40 inch LED TV with TATA SKY connection. I
loved the couch inside the room which was quite big and can even serve as a bed
for one person / child. Air conditioning was bang on chilling, though lighting
in the room was not that bright. I asked them and got to know that they are
already working on it and installing more lights. Bathroom was aesthetically
done, with all the basic amenities in place.
House keeping people mostly came on demand to clean the
room as well as bathroom. The In room service is good and the staff is very
courteous and more than ready to help. I spoke to many staff members during my
stay and was fully satisfied with their responses and behavior; each one of
them had full knowledge about most of the hotel’s facilities and features. I
also met the F & B Manager who had a good experience of working in hotels
and it was really nice talking with him and discussing about the hotel and
kitchen.
They have only one F & B outlet, Gallery Cafe 24/7 which
is an all day dining restaurant as well in room dining is also catered from
here only. We had a nice experience as far as the food is concerned. I cannot
say everything was gourmet quality but yes it was fairly good. The breakfast
buffet as per the Hyatt Place norms throughout the world comprises only of 4-5 dishes.
But here in India , for us pampered souls they are doing a full fledged B/fast
which includes North Indian, South Indian, Continental, Eggs Station, Health
foods which spreads onto at least 12-15 dishes plus beverages. We also tried
the in room service and the quality and taste of food was really nice, even the
service was done well in time.

The Pool is beautiful with an arrangement of an
Instructor who manages the Gym as well as the Pool. Everyone loves to be in the
pool especially the children who enjoy it the most .In our case also, my
daughter had loads of fun at the pool with other children.
Due to location advantage, one does not have to go far
to get anything or experience the nightlife. Just move out of the hotel and you
land up on the main road which is a big market full of eating joints and
supermarkets. The vicinity is Calangute, which happens to be the most happening
place and beach for the tourists.
Overall, it is a beautiful property at an awesome
location with awesome staff and hospitality. Next time, when heading to Goa,
must stay at Hyatt Place for sure.
