on the 3rd floor, offers multi cuisine buffet breakfast, lunch and
dinner and a selection of tempting a la carte options. Savor fragrant Thai
specialties, Indian dishes and western favorites and a range of classic burgers
and sandwiches. Light and bright and overlooking the pool area, Cafe on 3 is
the ideal place to meet with friends to enjoy.
I was invited to their ongoing Dilli 6 food promotion by the most hospitable Shikha B.Singh (Mgr. Marcomm),
which is running till 21st August. The café is a nice and bright place,
not too big but nicely done and well lit. At the entry, is the bar area just
before you enter the doors of the Café.
The Golgappas and Chaat counter
welcomes you as you enter the place. I was heartily welcomed by Chef Tanmoy
Mazumdar (Exec. Chef.) The Chef showed us the regular buffet spread as well as
the most enticing foods from the Jama Masjid and nearby Purani Dilli area. I
must say, I was taken aback by the sheer look of those dishes.
We started with the Tangy Golgappas and the Papdi chaat
which was very well made with all the ingredients well intact, nice and tangy
chutneys with the best of masalas. The
kebabs were served just after that, which included the Boti kebabs, Babu Bhai’s
Dori kebab and the famous Aslam Butter Chicken. OMG, each and every creation was
just perfect. Aslam’s chicken is'nt the regular tomato gravy chicken dish instead
it’s a tandoori chicken drowned in yoghurt, cream and Amul butter. Not for
the faint hearted at all.
Even the Paneer tikkas and the Palak tikki were very well
made. For the main course, we had the Murg Musallam, Gosht Qorma and the
Jahangiri Chicken with the most delicious Mutton Biryani and Khameeri rotis. Each and every dish
was a perfect replication of the authentic stuff we have always had from the bylanes
of Jama Masjid area. I was so excited and inquisitive enough to ask the Chef if he
had got the khansamas from the old Delhi area to churn out such great stuff. He smilingly replied in
negative and I was really taken aback by his sheer talent of getting the same,
even better flavors in his dishes than those available in Purani Dilli using his own team and kitchen stuff. Each
and every flavor was so authentic, optimum use of spices, cooking style and
even presentation in the big Degs (Copper Pots).
The Dessert section was full of goodies but my eyes were
on the authentic Matia Mahal fare. And yes, we were served with the best Phirni
set in clay bowls and the sinful Shahi Tukda. Both were directly sourced from the
vendors in Old Delhi. A great end to one of the best meal, I have had in recent
times.
Kudos to the Chef and his team for such lovely food the
service team for their impeccable service. The F&B team under the expert guidance of Sanjay Pandita (Mgr. F&B) is doing wonders by showcasing their relentless talent and giving
out a delightful experience to the customers.
